In a closely fought match, Landskrona CC defended their total of 141 for 6, GCC replying with 135 for 7 in 20 overs.
Match no. 6 Landskrona CC vs Malmöhus CC
Malmöhus batted first and scored 134 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs while Landskrona CC scored 137 for 4 in 17 overs.

The new season started with 4 matches being played in Malmö, featuring 5 of the 6 teams playing in the league this year. Malmö CC and Malmöhus CC emerged victorious in their matches and established a 4-points lead over their rivals. The first day of the season was also marked by a sparkling century by Sunny Sharma (Malmö CC) who scored 120 of 63 deliveries against Göteborg CC. He shared a record opening partnership of 192 with Sanaullah (49).

The SSCF Inaugural Trophy was won by Landskrona CC. Playing against Malmöhus CC in the Final, Landskrona CC chased a formidable score of 164 successfully and produced a last-over win, with 3 wickets in hand.
Earlier Landskrona CC qualified for the Final after a win against Malmö CC.

| The first of the 3 concluding matches from the last season was played today between Malmöhus CC and Landskrona CC. Both the teams are applauded for ushering in the new season, despite the cold weather.
In a close and exciting match, Malmöhus CC scored 128 runs (all out) in 19.5 overs and in reply, Landskrona CC scored 123 for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Malmöhus CC won by five runs.

The South Sweden Cricket Federation (SSCF) was formed in November 2008 in response to a long felt need by the Cricketing Community in the region. It is indeed a tribute to the senior cricketers and administrators in the region who have created a common platform and unified the cricket clubs in the south (Kävlinge CC, Landskrona CC, Lund CC, Malmö CC and Malmöhus CC). This would not have been possible without the pioneering efforts of Masood Zaigam who took the initiative and made the formation of SSCF a reality. Contributions from Jaya Reddy, Rajan Sharma, Sajjad Butt, the late Christopher Brito, Tommy Wallgren, Christian Thorup and a host of others have also been critical to the formation of SSCF.
The primary goal of SSCF is to promote Cricket in South Sweden. This will be done in cooperation with the parent body, the National Cricket Board of Sweden (SCF). As the Regional Cricket Board, SSCF aims to enhance the cooperation between the participating clubs and encourage the formation and affiliation of new cricket clubs. In all its activities, SSCF will strive to maintain high standards and uphold the spirit of the game. SSCF will also encourage the clubs to find and nurture young talent in order to serve the long term interest of the game in the region.
During the first year (2009), SSCF successfully organized an indoor cricket tournament and a regional outdoor cricket league. Eight teams participated in the recently concluded (28 march 2010) indoor tournament this year, including teams from Göteborg and Trollhättan. The outdoor league this year features two new teams (United CC from Malmö and Göteborg CC). A total of six league matches have already been played during the month of may 2010. | |
